About
Who We Are
Faith Episcopal Church is a community where God is worshiped in the Episcopal tradition. Conveniently located off Highway 50 in Cameron Park we draw members from many of the surrounding communities in the Sierra foothills and below. Children are always visible at Faith Church, and our programs for toddlers to young adults reflect our commitment to their growth and development. We are a parish that focuses on our spiritual development and mission work, both local and international. Our membership is as diverse as the communities we serve and our ministries and programs encourage fellowship across all generations.
Faith Episcopal Church is conveniently located off of Highway 50 in the scenic Sierra foothills of Cameron Park. We are a parish church in the Episcopal Diocese of Northern California. Our Diocese covers most of northern California (excluding San Francisco and the Bay Area) and includes 60+ locations.
Our Values
Mission Statement
Our mission is to praise God by serving, growing and sharing in Christ’s love.
Vision
Our vision is to be a place where:
- the Christian faith is taken seriously
- children are welcome and families are supported
- the Episcopal tradition shapes our faith
- we help each other find and live our calling
- we care for others outside the church
We strive to be an open, caring group of Christians who maintain a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Our aim is to draw all people closer to each other and to Christ through meaningful worship, relevant teaching and a variety of social and other activities so that we might become mature in our faith and positively influence our families, our community and the world.
Our all-purpose building, which we moved into in 2003, allows us to host over 500 people for special services, and we often host events for our Diocese in addition to regular community support and interest groups. The property is located on 10 beautiful acres in the Sierra foothills, and we are poised for growth to increase our shared experience of faith and focus on youth and families, now and in the years ahead.
Our History
Faith was a mission church of the Diocese from 1992 to 2001, and we incorporated as a parish in the Spring of 2001.
1991
In the fall of 1991 a small group of people began meeting in Kent and Kathy McNair’s house to dream and plan for a new Episcopal Church in El Dorado County.
1992
Soon a store front was secured and Faith Episcopal Church was born on Easter Sunday 1992, as a Mission of the Episcopal Diocese of Northern California.
2001
On March 16, 2001, Faith Church became a Parish of the same Diocese.
2003
Our permanent building was completed in 2003 on a 10 acre site that allows for expansion.
