Children
Children Are Welcome!
Children are always welcome in our worship service! We believe kids are an important part of our community. In everything we do, we want kids to know that church is a place where God’s family gathers, and it’s just as much for kids as for grown-ups.
Family Worship Spaces
Families can find comfortable spaces inside the sanctuary with rocking chairs, pillows and room for toddlers to crawl around. We’re used to the noises children make, so don’t worry if they fuss a little.
Sunday School
Children may stay in the service with parents or join in Sunday School. Children age 3 and older can attend Sunday School for age-appropriate lessons and activities, and will return to the sanctuary just before communion.
Seasonal Programs
Special activities are offered during summer and seasons of the church, including leading the Nativity procession on Christmas Eve, joining in the Palm Sunday procession, the children’s egg hunt on Easter Sunday, and creating art to display in the hallway.
Safe Church
All volunteers who work with children and youth are required to complete regular screening and training, including LiveScan fingerprinting and a criminal background check. Click here for more information about our diocesan Safe Church standards. Normally, there are two trained adults present, and reporting instructions is posted with contact info in each children’s room. Our church building has been designed with child safety and parent comfort in mind; all our rooms have glass panels to the hallway. Parents are always welcome to drop in and observe a class at any time.
