The Daughters of Faith ®
A Chapter of The Order of the Daughters of the King ®
The international Order of the Daughters of the King is a lay religious order for women. Women in the Order are communicants of the Episcopal Church and churches in communion with it – Anglican, Lutheran (ELCA), and Roman Catholic.
Pledges of a Daughter of the King ®
By reaffirmation of the promises made at Baptism and Confirmation, a Daughter pledges herself to a life-long program of prayer, service, and evangelism, dedicated to the spread of Christ’s Kingdom and the strengthening of the spiritual life of her parish.
The Daughters of Faith ® chapter meets at Faith EC once a month for prayer, study, planning service projects, and sharing. Those interested in participating may arrange to attend a meeting as a guest to learn more.
One of the Daughter’s of Faith’s service projects is collecting items to support the Nomadic Shelter’s work with the homeless.
About The Logo of The Order of the Daughters of the King ®
The emblem of the Order is in the form of a modified Greek fleury cross inscribed in Latin, “Magnanimiter Crucem Sustine,” the watchword of the Order, meaning “With heart, mind and spirit uphold and bear the cross.” At the base of the cross are the letters “FHS,” initials that stand for the Motto of the Order: “For His Sake.”
